
16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence
The National Planning Organization in Kassala celebrated the “16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence” at the Reference Hospital's shelter. This event brought together several local and international organizations to raise awareness about violence, particularly against women and children.
The celebration included representatives from JASMAR, CDF, SRCS, and the Kuwaiti Patient Aid Fund.
A series of events took place, featuring a lecture by a mental health specialist who discussed the importance of psychological support for victims. Colleague Jar Nabi Ibrahim presented the risks of violence and its effects on individuals and society. Additionally, Ms Zainab Youssef Al-Sayoufi, the Child Protection Program Coordinator, delivered a lecture on the role of child protection in combating violence.
The event also showcased cultural performances by a folk dance troupe and a theatrical presentation conveying powerful anti-violence messages.
The activities focused on several critical issues, including various forms of violence against women, such as child marriage and harassment.
Participants expressed joy and enthusiasm, as the celebration fostered a positive and fruitful atmosphere, contributing to increased awareness and knowledge sharing about violence issues. This event marks an important step toward enhancing community awareness of violence issues and reflects the ongoing efforts of organizations committed to fighting violence and providing support to those affected.
