Health Promoters Workshop
On Thursday evening, the training workshop for health promoters in the displacement shelters (the Referral Hospital, Al-Hafaer Hospital, Al-Ashbal School, and West Airport) concluded at the police hall. This event was organized by the NPO in collaboration with the Ministry of Health and Social Development - Kassala, with support from UNICEF Sudan. The two-day workshop included numerous practical aspects related to health in the shelters, including:
- Open defecation
- Disease vectors
- Water-related diseases
- Handwashing with soap and water at critical times
- Types of waste and their disposal
- Community communication
- Water and food safety
- Water chlorination
- Cholera The workshop also emphasized water quality and safety. Participants recommended intensifying training sessions in preventive health and the management of various water sources to contribute to the management and implementation of health activities in the shelters. Additionally, the importance of providing an adequate number of health facilities, including latrines, showers, and washing machines, was highlighted.
