Open Defecation Free Community
The National Planning Organization, with support from UNICEF Sudan and in collaboration with the Ministry of Health – Kassala State, proudly celebrated the Dabl Awit Al-Hamdab community for officially eliminating open defecation (OD) and certified as Open Defecation Free (ODF). This achievement reflects the community’s strong leadership and commitment under the comprehensive sanitation program. The celebration was marked by the presence of key stakeholders, including the Deputy Director General of the Ministry of Health, project leaders, and local health champions. Ms. Aisha Hassan, Country Director of the National Planning Organization, emphasized the ongoing commitment to expanding sanitation and hygiene improvements throughout rural Kassala.
